Elephant Hill Management Plan, Los Angeles, CA September 2012 – June 2013
Project Advisor
· Created a comprehensive restoration and management plan for Elephant Hill Open Space.
· Produced a scientific literature review relevant to project goals.
· Surveyed and mapped the current status of Elephant Hill with use of GPS instruments.
· Extensive use of ArcGIS to produce local vegetation maps, socio-demographic maps, custom maps, in addition to slope and aspect maps.
· Produced PowerPoint presentations to effectively communicate project results to the client, community leaders, and local government officials.
Tobacco-Free Initiative, Los Angeles, CA November 2012 – June 2013
Action Research Team Leader
· Headed a research team that conducted an environmental analysis of UCLA’s tobacco-free policy.
· Experience with air pollution monitoring equipment. This was used to monitor Particulate Matter 2.5, Particulate Matter 10, Nicotine, Carbon Dioxide and several others.
· Use with STATA 10 to conduct all statistical tests relating to our hypothesis.
· Produced and distributed educational materials such as, posters, a website, and a written Op-Ed piece.
Ballona Creek Watershed Retrofit, Los Angeles, CA January 2012 – April 2012

· Analyzed the potential to implement Low Impact Development water storage techniques at public parks within the Ballona Creek watershed.
· Created a “Strategy For Change”, which took into account the current political climate, the necessary funding, and public acceptance of the project.
